Re: Clue #7
I think this is a tribute hunt for Herb Howe One of the very first legends in snowmobile racing – and an ambassador of the sport – has died at the age of 91. Herb Howe won the very first super-endurance race in snowmobiling: the 457-mile cross-country International 500 from Winnipeg, Manitoba, to St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1966.
I thought about other tribute hunts, and I believe 2015 was one of them.
I think in the description of it on Cooler Crew it talks about disgrace in a funny way, Congratulations go to Steve Worthman, The Map Guy, and well-known writer of The Treasure Hunter's Guide, for cracking the clues and picking up the ice-encased chunk of rags which encased the medallion. In addition to the new member of the Cooler Crew Hall of Fame, we also add Coldest Hunter, Steve Sanftner, to the Wall of Shame, for inadvertently turning over the block of ice and throwing it in Mappy's direction.
I went out there yesterday and this morning, found an orange cone stuck in the ice but no medallion. The parking lot is closed off in one area so the people can sled down the hill. The snow is thick and well its cold too.
If the puck is buried in the 1966 spot, the year of Herb's conquest that would be Harriet Island.

I believe this clue is telling us Victoria St. though that doesn't really narrow it down between Como and Central. There is a Rose St. that goes into Como by Victoria so I imagine we'll be getting a rose clue next!

I'm looking back at scrounging through sticks and cones. It seems now that there's an obvious answer to that. It's on the ground under a bunch of sticks and pine cones. So probably in an area with some pine trees.

Good street noodles.
Nevada has an unofficial motto of “battle born” appearing in its flag. And is officially known as the silver state.
Nevada Ave runs through a few parks, but does link up with cats worth NE of lake como.
While that area is by the golf course there’s a wooded area outside of it I might poke around in a bit.

Now that's a great noodle! There is always some History usually though, and that is where I fail. But allusions and clues to street names....wow. Love it. I guess its not a 100% lock, but it's got me more than half. Its actually leading over to the lake side of the park it seems.....................................................................................
I wonder if we have been given a few allusions to street names:
cap and gown = Oxford
"A bomb" should be a-bomb = Nagasaki rd
diamond in rough = Argyle
"A hill" is ChurcHILL
prattle = CHATsworth
battle = Midway (continuing on the WWII themes)
liberties and rights = Lexington (revolutionary war)
