The Saint Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation — the folks who put on the St. Paul Winter Carnival — named a new president and CEO today.
Beth Pinkney, most recently championship director for the USGA’s 2008 Women’s Open, will oversee general management of the Foundation. That includes budget development, sponsorship development and year-round fundraising initiatives.
“I am excited to be part of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival,” said Pinkney. “In years past, I have become a fan of the parades, snow sculptures and ice carving contests. I am a strong believer in the Winter Carnival’s rich tradition and history of family fun.”
The Hoyt Lakes native and University of Minnesota graduate lives in Woodbury and takes over her post immediately.
The previous Foundation head, Kate Kelly, left her post at the end of June after a three-year run with “The Coolest Celebration on Earth.”
The 123rd Carnival will run Jan. 22 through Feb. 1 next year.
