ST. PAUL, Minn.—It’s time again to celebrate winter in St. Paul.
The 124th St. Paul Winter Carnival kicks off Thursday and runs through Jan. 31.
There will be the traditional Winter Carnival events, such as the ice-carving competition in Rice Park in downtown St. Paul. The new King Boreas and Queen Aurora will be crowned Thursday night at St. Paul RiverCentre. The King Boreas Grande Day Parade will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, with the Vulcan Victory Torchlight Parade the following Saturday, Jan. 30.
Members of the 2010 U.S. Olympic curling team will be grand marshals for the Torchlight Parade.
New to this year’s Winter Carnival is the Deep Blues Music and Film Festival at the St. Paul Eagles Club on Jan. 23 and 30.
