The Medallion Militia is proud to announce our flash event, 5 WEEKENDS OF TREASURE!

I will be running 5 separate mini hunts the next 5 weekends. The hunts will be 4 clues, one clue per day being released at 5pm. They will run TH-SUN. The search area will be Ramsey County PUBLIC LAND. Winners will receive free entry to my next Coldest’s Lost Treasure Hunt starting May 2020 worth $250-$500 if you find it, also a cool Mini Medal for the finder to keep. One random chest will contain a bonus prize as well. You will be looking for Small Golden Treasure Chests (pics to follow).

Basic standard rules are in play:
- Not on a golf course (a real one at least)
- Will not be on any steep hill or near a bluff
- Will not be on any body of water
- Keep safety in mind, don’t be a dummy
- If you ask yourself, “I don’t think I should be searching here” then you shouldn’t, use common sense people.
- By searching for the Mini Medals you waive all liability to the Clue Writer and people putting on this event. Includes all injuries and possible losses or damages.

We will add a twist for hunters that find multiple Mini Medals. For every additional Mini Medal found the hunter will receive a Treasure Multiplier. The Multiplier will gain you additional cash IF you find the 2020 Coldest Lost Treasure this May! The Treasure Multiplier will work as follows:

- 2 Mini Medals = $25
- 3 Mini Medals = $50
- 4 Mini Medals = $75
- 5 Mini Medals = $100

With help from The Red, light will be shed.
Putting out the smoke of this mystery.
He commanded a fleet, but you can’t be beat.
While in search of treasure and it’s history.
Explanation:
•”The Red” is a reference to Erik The Red. Which is the start of a collective reference to the 1977 Pioneer Press hunt’s concealer. A Eric brand cigar box. The cigar box also depicts a viking ship on it.
•”Putting out the smoke” is supportive reference to the 1977 cigar box.
•The last line tells you to look back on treasure history. As these mock hunts are modeled after the Pioneer Press hunt that would be the treasure history you should look into. In 1977 the Pioneer Press Treasure Medallion was hidden at Irvine Park in a Eric brand cigar box. The Mini Medal was hidden near that exact same spot as in 1977.

Love is in the air, there’s hearts everywhere.
Look for a place to express true love.
Buried in the snow, just go with the flow.
It’s active below, but stagnant above.
Explanation:
• “Hearts everywhere”. There is a house across from Irvine Park that is decorated in hearts,
•”A place to express true love”. Irvine Park is a popular place to get married.
•The Mini Medal is buried in the snow.
•”Go with the flow” is a reference to the river.
•”It’s active below”, the Mississippi River is below/south of Irvine Park.
•”Stagnant above” is a reference to the River Center, a river that does not move.

Plates of spaghetti, moved to the Levee.
Bartered, swapped, and traded now over 100 years.
Herringbone, sawbone, now even... dog bone?
Now move your paws to a place that’s dog eared.
Explanation:
•The first line is a reference to the Italian migration to the Upper Levee neighborhood of St. Paul over 100 years ago.
•Bartered, swapped, and traded are all synonyms of exchange. Exchange street is very close to Irvine Park.
•Cossettas is a popular Italian business that has been around for over 100 years. The owners are among some of the first Italians to come to the Upper Levee over 100 years ago. Cossettas Restaurant is very close to Irvine Park.
•Herringbone os a reference to the herringbone brick pattern of the road by Eagle Plaza Park, very close to Irvine Park. (For you history buffs, It was a double meaning for Mary Molloy. She was popular dress maker of St Paul that used to sell her dresses near Irvine Park over 100 years ago.
•Sawbone is a reference to the Ohage House across the street from Irvine Park. Ohage was a famous surgeon of St Paul.
•Dogbone is a reference to forepaugh's (four paws), word okay used in the 1977 Pioneer Press hunt.
•The last line tells you to be in Irvine Park rather than Eagle Plaze ( recently renamed Cossetta Park). “Move your paws and dog eared reference again, forepaugh's.
•Dog eared could also be take. To mean old, Irvine Park is one of St. Paul’s oldest parks. This park has also been used in a Pioneer Press hunt in 1977.

You’ll be in luck, if you follow the nut,
South of a stagnant flow and a place that’s Wild.
Locked in a square, it’s here I swear... somewhere!
Near a tree, the chest will evoke a smile.

The northern quadrant, you’ll scream “I found it!”
Within the site where X marks the park.
Clue one’s mystery, look back on history,
Near where the Glib Ghoul first made his mark.
Explanation:
•”Follow the nut” is a reference to Walnut street.
•”Stagnant flow” is the River Center, Irvine Park is south of there.
•”A place that’s Wild” is the Xcel Energy Center where the MN wild play.
•”Locked in a square”, Irvine Park is shaped like a square.
•The Mini Medal was hidden near the base of a tree.
•The Mini Medal was hidden in the northern quadrant of Irvine Park.
•”X marks the park”, looking at google maps there is a big X that is right over Irvine Park.
* Glib Ghoul is an anagram for Bill Gough. The Mini Medal was hidden very close to where he found the Pioneer Press Medallion in 1977 in a Eric brand cigar box. (Anyone can find the exact pin point on www.coolercrew.com)
