We’re off to the races, here we go. The “parson “and I, we love the show. Bells, whistles -- bands and sirens too. Boisterous crowds with much ado.
Explanation:
The first clue would indicate activity involving people as Marion Savage and Dan Patch are apparently leaving town which would have been from the depot near the Town Square.

Strike one – a hit – run George run! I’d like to stay, but we’ve work to be done. Credit River runs through the place, But I’m not getting in that race.
Explanation:
This leads into clue #2 which identifies the activity as a baseball game. George Coakley was a very good ballplayer whose name (along with others) is memorialized in an ode to the team on display in the Heritage Room at the Savage Library. Baseball in 1906 would be played on the Town Square not Warren Butler Field. The remainder of the clue is an additional locational hint that the shoe is in the old part of town as the Credit River was diverted through a race to power the mill located near Palmer and 123rd street.

Windsor, Toronto … we’ve thrilled them all. Now, gambol the pasture and lounge in my stall. Wills’ capital drive is for another world cup, Just might do it when our State Fair starts up.
Explanation:
Windsor and Toronto are cities in Canada and Ottawa is the capital of Canada. There is a large sign on the shoulder of highway 13 about in the middle of our newly redone Town Square parking lot that says Ottawa Avenue.

The record was set and my spirit still soars, My shoe is on the ground covered lightly of course. They’ve spruced the place up - that’s nice to see. A towering TAJ guidon (of sorts) one day it will be.
Explanation:
The final clue really pinpoints the shoe as being covered with some mulch under the new spruce tree on the northwest corner of the Town Square. In future years that tree will be used as a guide when viewing the site of the TAJ (International Stock Food Farms Stables was commonly referred to as the TAJ due to its distinctive architectural style reminiscent of the Taj Mahal) from the new location of the Savage Depot on the Town Square.
