Another year has gone so fast.
What can we do to make them last?
Enjoy our friends and families too.
Community provides the “glue.”

And here in Jordan’s beauteous vale
We yearly meet and selves regale
Stories of medallion hunts
And yarns of yesteryear’s fun stunts.

To start us off in this year’s running,
Here we place amid some punning,
Guidelines for your search for gold,
Which you will use, or so I’m told.

Gold it is, and heav’ly massed.
Its place won’t easily be passed.
You will not need to climb a pole
Or wade in streams or dig like Mole.

Avoid our Jordanites’ fair gardens,
Lest opinion ‘gainst you hardens.
Leave their fields and lawns alone.
Kids, bring someone with who’s grown.

Anywhere you can roam free,
That’s where it may surely be.
When you spy it, read the info
On what reward you’ll win. Go!

London town is still at last
Olympic Games are in the past
Time to roll out our own game
Things will never be the same.

One two buckle my shoe
Three four shut the door
Five six pick up sticks
Seven eight we can’t wait.

Hill and dale and field and stream
Gold is waiting; it’s no dream
Run and throw and swim and holler
If you’re warm undo your collar.

Nine ten you’ll find it when?
Eleven twelve rest not delve
Thirteen fourteen you’re so sporting
Fifteen sixteen has a nice sheen.

Judges sit on fence and railroad
When you’re slow, with clues they do goad
All good neighbors into hunting
There’s no place to hang much bunting.

Tunnels for your railroad car
Tunnels once in use in war
Tunnels in the willow grove
Tunnels lead to treasure trove.

Leaves on tall green trees and
Leaves of waving amber grass land
Leaves afloat in pleasant brooks
Leaves of paper in our books.

Seeds and blossoms all bird-ready
Grown in sun and rain so steady
Flowers lining paths alongside
Gardens where the old folks reside.

Eager seekers of the gold coin
From their sleep time they do purloin
Chances to go out and look round
Whether near or far from hard ground.

Oh so near yet oh so far
Hearing naught of truck or car
Feeling hammer of the jack
Thunder near the walking track.

Heimatfest is days away!
You have orders; don’t delay!
Pick your spot and be away!
Take the kids; get out and play!

Look to rising moon in east,
Tread past yonder sleeping beast,
Dogs just want to have their feast,
They won’t bug you in the least.

Protect your skin from sun on high.
Give the deep dark woods a bye.
Walk where paths create a wye.
Traffic will go zipping by.

Choose which trail on which you’ll go--
Some goes high and some goes low—
Some by waters that do flow—
Some by ranks of blooms that grow—

Do you know it’s up to you?
Question is, now what to do?
Finding gold won’t take a crew?
Can’t you stop in morning dew?

Come on, folks, get up and going.
Hidden gold is still a-glowing.
Sitting in a nice, low shrub,
It’s awaiting for you, Bub.

Hie you to a southeast street,
Where our town and country meet.
At the place where Mike meets mill,
That’s where find the coin you will.

Cross the way, then cross the road.
Soon your pocket will have load.
Right beside the level drive,
Tiny flowers tempt a hive.

Count the Georges one two three.
Down a dozen gold will be.
Framed by branches so tiny,
Wrapped, in case the wood’s spiny.

Gleaming gold now needs attention!
In the news you’ll get your mention.
Pluck the bag with big coin in it.
Bring to town in just a minute.
