Day 1 of the Medallion Hunt, brothers Ben and Aiden Dorn; and brothers Nick and Nolan Brunn walked around together in areas near their house to look on their own for the medallion.  When the Day 2 clue came out they enlisted their mom to drive them to locations further from their houses. No luck that day either. On Day 3 after looking for half the day they decided to ask their neighbor, Gail Acosta, for her input. Gail joined the group and they searched for a few more hours with no luck.

The following morning Gail called right after the 4th clue was revealed and the crew planned to set out to hunt. They picked up Gail (who sweetly packed a cooler with snacks) and hunted until lunch. After lunch the boys searched with the help of Ben and Aiden’s mom, Jen; then the searched continued with the help of more neighbors and family. The clue using the words transformers and power had the group electrician set on it being something electrical. We had put several versions of the word "nut" in our bag of clues and focused on it being tall from the clue stand tall. As we were nearing our night of checking tall electrical poles we found the medallion!

The hunt brought together a young group of boys, their neighbors and family providing days filled with fun and excitement.

The Medallion was found in Thunder Bay/West ind Park.  We hope you all enjoyed hunting for the Medallion.  Thanks to North Heights Hardware Hank for sponsoring this event.

Superhero headquarters we are boasting this year,
So wicked villains beware lest you're coming for beer.
Leagues of Justice, Power Rangers, Transformers and all,
Praise ye each agent of good that you steadfast stand tall.
Explanation:
Power Rangers and Transformers both allude to the utility power line towers that support our electrical power lines and transformers.
These electrical power lines “steadfast stand tall” as they serve as agents of good by keeping us supplied with electricity.

Vendors of goodies galore – the meat to the sweet,
Plus dancing and cavorting beckon citizens to tweet...
Come see Silly Miss Tilly, karaoke, plus yoga alfresco,
And don't dare overlook our power hula hoop show.
Explanation:
Letting people know some of the perhaps less known events we have going on at the festival. Also, another reference to “power”.

To the Batcopter, Robin! One beloved hero would hoot,
As they would hunt the medallion and strive for the loot.
Finding a nut more jumbo than this you'll never have task,
Oh first donate a backpack for kids - only but ask.
Explanation:
The Batcopter would take one up high, referencing the height of the power line towers. The power line towers have visible gigantic nuts and bolts securing them to their bases. Most likely none of us will ever “have task” to find such a jumbo-sized nut.

Coquelicot brassard touched by side-line of mustard,
Flitting friends nigh you'll surely find to be clustered.
With cochlea engaged, conk-la-ree may serve as your guide,
While our handy t-shirts show your city spirit and pride.
Explanation:
“Coquelicot” is a red-orange color which can be found on the wings of red-winged blackbirds. A “brassard” is an armband suggesting the colored “armbands” on the wings of red-winged blackbirds. “Side-line of mustard” refers to the yellow line that underlines the red on the wings of the red-winged blackbirds. Red-winged blackbirds flit and they cluster along the marshy land which runs along part of the power line path.

“Cochlea” is the part of the ear which allows us to hear. With it engaged, you can hear the sound of the red-winged blackbird, a song which is described and written as “conk-la-ree”. Figuring out the red-winged blackbird will guide you right next to the tower power lines as these birds are typically found in the marshy cattail area that sits under the power lines and this path will lead you to the power tower that holds the medallion.

Real modern-day heroes, strung but unsung in plain sight,
Poised strong from the lowest of lows to the highest of height.
In our land of lakes brimming with heritage and tradition,
With such a long distance job, you'd call it a lengthy transmission.
Explanation:
The electrical power lines are our modern-day heroes for without them we would not have electricity. All the towers are “strung” together by the power lines. They are “unsung” in that we give them little-to-no thought or credit for the mighty role they play. They stand obviously in “plain sight”. These power towers are on the ground, as low as a thing can get, and reach higher than anything else in the city, therefore they “reach the lowest of lows and highest of heights.”

“Heritage” refers to the Heritage Office Park on County Road D where a tower power line stands in their parking lot. “Long distance job” and “lengthy transmission” refer to the great distance the power lines cover.

One giant towering affair for a little town deemed petite,
Something sort of like wavy, now you're warming your seat.
We know that master of one may not be master of all,
But the more masters the better, now don't you guys brawl
Explanation:
A “giant towering affair,” again, refers to the power line towers.

There is a business sign in the Heritage Office Park where hunters will see “Rink Tec Curling Specialists”. Curling is “sort of like wavy”.

There are two businesses in the Heritage Office Park that have the word “Masters” in them (Real Estate Masters and Old Masters Title Insurance) which makes for “more masters” than a “master of one.”

The medallion is hidden near a jumbo nut on the power line tower that sits in the middle of the Heritage Office Park parking lot.
