Clues
What's in a name? Therein lies the game! No time for zagging and zigging;
You won't prevail if you stray from the trail—wherefore art thou digging?
Discover a blaze in sweet-parting ways, or say good night 'til morrow;
Search with care for a star-cross'd pair that tragically dies over sorrow.
Explanation:

  • This clue alludes to William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, with references to both the prologue ("a pair of star cross'd lovers take their life") and act 2, scene 2 ("wherefore art thou Romeo?," "What's in a name?," "That which we call a rose / By any other name would smell as sweet," "Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow / That I shall say good night till it be morrow"). The key to deciphering this is in Juliet's comparison of Romeo to a rose. It's meant to suggest that the tokens are hidden at Reservoir Woods Park—in Roseville, near Roselawn Avenue, as well as the fact each token was frozen into the center of a rose made of ice.

  • "No time for" could be stretched a bit to suggest the 2004 documentary "No Time For Cold Feet," which features avid Pioneer Press Treasure Hunter Jake Ingebrigtson; the first of his two finds came in 2007—early enough to force a second hunt, in Roseville (the last time the Pioneer Press Medallion was hidden there).

  • "You won't prevail if you stray from the trail" is meant to suggest hunters hew closely to Trout Creek Trail, which runs through Reservoir Woods Park on both sides of Dale Street.

  • "wherefore art thou digging?" (or "why are you digging?") is meant to suggest hunters need not dig to uncover a token—as they were not buried in the snow. It could also be taken—again, with a bit of stretching—to suggest a pseudo-Shakespearean rephrasing of the Cooler Crew's oft-repeated motto: "You dig?"

  • "Discover a blaze in sweet-parting ways" is meant to suggest hunters search for tokens near each of five forks on Trout Creek Trail, within Reservoir Woods Park.

  • "Search" could be taken to suggest Alta Vista Drive (Alta Vista was a popular early-web search engine), which leads from Dale Street to Reservoir Woods’ main entrance and parking lot.

  • "dies over sorrow" anagrams to "Reservoir Woods," and is meant to suggest hunters search within the Roseville park that bears that name.
