are your keys to figuring out the clues this year.

Start searching public property with all of your might!
Explanation:
The lure is located on public property, never private property. Keeping in mind that the clue writer likes word games and anagrams, if you take the first letter of every word in the 5th line, backwards, it spells Soo Line.

Before we hid this years lucky lure we swear
We asked the Mayor and she said “Yeah, that’s fair”.
Its hidden well, but no tools you’ll need
Just use keen eyes and watch your speed!
Explanation:
The lure is disguised very well, you won’t need any tools, but you will need keen eyes to spot it. Multiple speed limit signs in the area, both on the Soo line and on the highway.

One silo is an anagram for Soo line, running is just one of the activities you can enjoy on the soo line, Keep left/right signs are on the trail in various places

Explanation:
From fifty to twenty-five and back is a reference to the speed limit signs on the trail, it slows down going into town (from either direction) and speeds back up going back out. Steed is a double reference, as a slang for a bike, and with breed, giddy up and hitching post a reference to the stockyards that at one time bordered the trail.

A cashew family fruit, don’t forget clue one
Are you in cahoots with mums?
Explanation:
The first line is a musical reference to a railroad song. Chip away is a reference to Chippewa St that would intersect the soo line near the lures location. Double down refers to many signs on the trail that are doubles (double diamonds, double arrows), there is also a sign nearby that directs trail users NOT to exit at that point to downtown. The sumac cone is in the cashew family, and if you remember clue one, In Cahoots with mums tells you to anagram cahoots and mums, which gives you “smooth sumac”.

Just remember, histourically, the clue writers are fickle.
Baskin Robbins and Bridgemans make a refreshing treat,
But to find the elusive lure search across the busy street.
You won’t have to dig anything up,
You won’t have to climb any trees
But when you see the blue rubber bands
You’ll be looking between two and three.
Explanation:
If you look at the historical tour of Wahkon, found on the city website, you will find a box factory and pickle plant once resided on one side of the soo line at the lures location, and the Bridgemans creamery and Robbins boat works were once just across the highway. The blue rubber bands were used to secure the lure inside its sumac camouflage, and it was approximately 2-3 feet off the ground.

From Chippewa Street to South Main,
Along the Soo Line Trail is a copse of green.
You will want to keep to the highway side,
But away from the road, on a branch it does hide.

Its tucked between three red sumac cones
On a sumac branch complete with its leaves,
But that branch was then attached
to the branch of a very different tree.

Search off the ground, but don’t destroy any flora,
The branch you seek should be easy to see,
Although with the winds that we’ve had lately
It now being on the ground is a good possibility.
Explanation:
The Lure was found between Chippewa st and South Main, on the highway side of the trees and shrubs along the soo line trail. It was disguised in 3 sumac cones and attached to the branch of a non-sumac tree (it was still in the tree).
